Account Holds

Have you noticed a hold on your account?

A hold is placed on student accounts when issues need to be resolved on various parts of campus. There are a number of holds that can be placed on accounts to prevent registration, etc., so it is important to learn what type of hold is on your account and to contact that department/office directly to get the issue taken care of.

The Office of Graduate Admissions is responsible for placing transcript holds on student accounts. If a transcript hold is encountered, this means an official or final transcript and/or degree is missing from the student’s file. The student will not be able to register for the next semester until the requested documents are received.

Please do not contact the Office of Admissions if a SEVIS, Immunization, Financial, Advising or other type of non-admission hold has been placed on your account. A hold can only be lifted by the department/office that placed it.
